Betty’s Teacup Puppies

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you may want to know before welcoming one of our tiny companions into your family.

Choosing a puppy is a very personal decision, and we want you to feel informed and comfortable throughout the process. Below are answers to some of the questions our families ask us most often.

Size & Terminology

What is a “teacup” puppy?

The term teacup is commonly used to describe an exceptionally small toy-breed puppy. At Betty’s Teacup Puppies, we specialize in carefully selected petite puppies, including very small Yorkies, Pomeranians, Maltese, Poodles, and other toy breeds.

Some of our puppies may be estimated to mature within approximately the 1.5 to 3 pound range, while others may mature larger depending on genetics and individual development.

Because puppies are living animals, adult weight and final size are always estimates and cannot be guaranteed.

Health & Care

Are very small puppies healthy?

Very small toy-breed puppies can live happy, healthy lives, but their petite size means they require attentive and responsible care.

Young tiny puppies can be more sensitive to missed meals, low blood sugar, falls, rough handling, environmental changes, and stress.

Our puppies receive veterinary examinations and age-appropriate care before travel. We also provide clients with puppy-care guidance to help make the transition into their new home as safe and comfortable as possible.

Lifelong Companionship

How long do toy-sized dogs typically live?

Lifespan varies according to breed, genetics, nutrition, lifestyle, preventative care, environment, and overall health.

Many healthy toy-breed dogs enjoy long lives, often reaching their early to mid-teens with appropriate lifelong care. No individual puppy’s lifespan can be predicted or guaranteed.

Pricing

How much are your puppies?

Every puppy is individually priced based on factors such as breed, rarity, expected size, sex, lineage, appearance, and overall quality.

Pricing generally begins around $3,800 USD, with exceptionally rare or extremely small puppies priced higher.

Transportation, Personal Nanny Service, international delivery, and applicable import fees are separate unless otherwise stated.

Our Puppies

Where do your puppies come from?

We work with a carefully selected network of experienced breeders, including trusted breeding partners in South Korea who specialize in petite toy-breed lines.

Our focus is on working with breeders who prioritize health, responsible care, temperament, quality, and the characteristics we look for in our puppies. We do not source puppies from mass-production puppy mills.

Age & Travel

How old will my puppy be when they come home?

Puppies remain in our care until they have reached an appropriate age and are sufficiently developed for their transition and method of transportation.

Many puppies are shown and reserved when they are approximately three months old or older, but actual travel timing depends on the puppy’s individual development, destination, veterinary requirements, vaccination status, airline rules, and applicable import regulations.

Your puppy will travel only after the applicable health and travel requirements have been satisfied.

Reservation

How do I reserve a puppy?

Once you have selected your puppy and our team has confirmed availability, a $500 USD non-refundable reservation deposit is required to secure the puppy.

After the reservation has been placed, our team will guide you through the remaining payment, Purchase Agreement, preparation, and transportation process.

Transportation

How will my puppy get to me?

Depending on your location, your puppy’s size and age, airline availability, and applicable travel requirements, transportation may be arranged through our Personal Nanny Service, approved Pet Cargo service, local pickup, or another agreed method.

Our team will help determine the most appropriate available option for your puppy and destination.

Health Guarantee

Does my puppy come with a health guarantee?

Eligible puppies are provided with our One-Year Health Guarantee covering qualifying life-threatening congenital conditions, subject to the terms, limitations, exclusions, and claim requirements contained in the Purchase Agreement.
