Why from Korea?
Betty’s Teacup Puppies
Our Story
A passion that began in 2012. A standard built over years. A story that grew from Canada to South Korea.
Where It All Began
A Personal Beginning
Betty’s Teacup Puppies began in 2012 from a very personal experience. Long before creating our company, finding a genuinely petite, beautiful toy-breed puppy proved far more difficult than expected. Adult-size estimates were often inaccurate, quality varied considerably, and finding the distinctive characteristics we were searching for became an ongoing challenge.
That experience inspired us to create something different: a more thoughtful, transparent, and carefully managed way for families to find the type of tiny companion they had been searching for.
Canada to South Korea
An International Story
Over the years, our story expanded far beyond where it began. Through years of relationship-building, we developed trusted partnerships in South Korea and other parts of our international network.
South Korea has become an important part of our company’s story and sourcing network, particularly for distinctive toy-breed puppies with the petite size, baby-doll expression, teddy-bear features, coat quality, and overall appearance our clients often seek.
Today, our Canadian roots and South Korean relationships work together to create a truly international experience for families searching for something exceptional.
Our Breeders & Partners
Relationships Built Over Years
The relationships behind our puppies were not built overnight. We have spent years developing relationships with breeders and partners whose programs align with the standards we expect.
We strongly oppose irresponsible breeding practices and believe the health and well-being of both parent dogs and puppies should remain central to every breeding program.
Before a puppy is presented to our clients, the available health and veterinary information is reviewed and the puppy is evaluated based on development, temperament, overall condition, and the characteristics relevant to the individual placement.
Understanding the Term
What Does “Teacup” Mean?
“Teacup” is a descriptive term commonly used for exceptionally small toy-breed dogs. It is not an officially recognized breed classification or size category established by major kennel clubs.
We use the term because it is widely understood by families searching for particularly petite toy breeds. However, every puppy is a living animal whose development is influenced by genetics, nutrition, metabolism, and individual growth.
For this reason, adult size and weight estimates are always provided as estimates rather than guarantees.
Since 2012
More Than a Decade of Experience
Since 2012, our company has grown and evolved, but the reason behind it remains remarkably simple: we wanted to create the experience we once wished existed for ourselves.
From carefully selecting puppies to coordinating international transportation and helping families prepare for their puppy’s arrival, our goal is to provide a personal and thoughtfully managed experience from beginning to end.
We continue to focus on quality over quantity and on building long-term relationships with the families who trust us to help them find their newest companion.
Our Philosophy
Every Puppy Has a Journey
Every family has a story. We’re honoured to be part of both.
Adult size, weight, appearance, coat characteristics, and other developmental traits cannot be guaranteed. Any estimates are based on the puppy’s current development, genetics, and available lineage information.
